Executive Director Robert Berry, Jr., has asked me to send his greetings to everyone in our district and to let you know that he continues to recuperate in Eupora.
We have been keeping in touch with Robert, and he always expresses his concern about the welfare of the North Central district. This is a busy time here with staff putting the finishing touches on HOME applications and the Summer Youth Employment Program winding up. The NCPDD SYEP was a great success with 245 youth being employed in the four counties served.
We are also looking forward to obtaining some energy grant funds for our counties and municipalities through various ARRA programs. We hope to move forward soon with our planning for a new NCPDD office building. Robert set the wheels in motion for this project, and we will continue to work to see that it comes to fruition. Mr. Berry has provided capable and visionary leadership during the past three years as executive director, and we all greatly appreciate his efforts to better the lives of our citizens. I hope to have the opportunity to build on this legacy and provide leadership in the future for the North Central Planning and Development District. . |
